About Us

Welcome

We are a mother/daughter handmade business that began in January 2021, when our daughter (whom suffers from anxiety) needed me to be at home more than at work. Due to the pandemic her anxiety had reached a point that she stopped dancing, visiting with friends, and refused to leave the house.

Through virtual therapy sessions she discovered that sewing and creating helped to ease her anxiety. She began making gnomes for fun. Then was asked to make them for friends and family. When she began getting paid for them she said, " Mom, I could make it a business and sell them giving my profits to charity." So that is what she did.

In Jan 2021, she opened Our Daily Gnome, LLC and began making and selling her gnomes for profit and has ventured into an array of ways to help others ever since. We have found our purpose and are happy to serve our community.

We are grateful, thankful and blessed to have our small business, to serve our community and to be able to share it with all of you! Without you, this would not be possible. So we THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for your support and encouragement.

For each item sold in our shop, a portion of our profits are donated to both local and national organizations that help children with anxiety so we can make an impact on a global level.

Thank you for viewing our shop and helping us help others. We believe that although we can't help everyone; everyone can help someone.

Donating is our way of helping someone.

About us personally, I am a child of God, mother of 9 ( 5 boys, 1 daughter and 3 daughters-in-love), grandmother of 8, wife of a retired Naval Officer, owner of a female-owned small business and part-time Registered Nurse. I have been sewing and crafting since I was 8. As I got older, I learned to embroider and make my own clothing as well. In 2012, after my daughter was born, I started making custom clothing, bedding and embroidery for family and friends. My love for creating has only grown over the years and now I am teaching my daughter the same skills.

My daughter is a spunky, kind, creative 10 year old that loves to create hapiness for others. She loves to sew, paint, draw and craft in general. She is very artistic and loves to show it in many ways.

We both are passionate about sewing, dance, crafting and bringing joy to the lives of others.

Being a mother and nurse for over 30 years, I am very detail and customer service oriented. It is our mission to provide the best service and quality products to you. We want our customers to know we care and we do that by giving extraordinary service.

Majority of the items in our shop are handmade by us. Our graphic t-shirts are sublimation or screen print transfers pressed onto quality shirts in our shop using professional grade equipment.

Our future goals were to have a brick and mortar store where we can offer creative arts classes as a therapeutic way to battle anxiety, depression, stress, and plain boredom, as well as, booths for kid entrepreneurs to grow.

The Creative Arts Center of Hampton Roads, Inc opened on April 29, 2022,  are mission is to help others find artistic ways to have fun and escape their anxiety, depression and less joyous mental state if even for just an hour.
